This month, EPRI has awarded TEServices a study of metallurgical and mechanical properties for MGA 1400 DS in the new, aged at 900°C, 1000°C and 4000°C for 1000 hours and rejuvenation heat treated conditions. Stress rupture, low cycle fatigue (LCF) and a combination of stress rupture and LCF will be tested on new, aged and rejuvenation heat treated MGA 1400 DS as well as GTD 111 DS materials. The goal is to obtain a solid baseline of the MGA 1400 DS base material to operate and repair Mitsubishi Power Systems M501F/G/J series gas turbine blades beyond the OEM inspection intervals and life.
